Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between head-to-head fantasy baseball and rotisserie baseball, and which one are we playing?

In regular fantasy baseball, you get points for things like RBIs, HRs, Wins, etc. and each week or whatever, you play against one other team and either beat them, or they beat you, much like in fantasy football. The teams with the best W-L records at the end of the season make the postseason and eventually there will be a champion.
In true rotisserie baseball, stats are kept in different categories, and at the end of the year the team that has the best overall stats (adding up the rankings in each category) is the winner, and there is no postseason.
What we will play is a little of each. Every other Thursday, you will turn in your starters and how they do (from Friday through the following Sunday) in each stats category will determine how your team does against all of the other teams in the league. We will add up the rankings in each of the categories, and for example, if we have 7 teams the team that does the best will go 6-0 in that period (because they beat the other six teams), the team that is next best will be 5-1, etc. on down to the worst team will go 0-6. This will be explained in more depth in the rules, but that's the basic idea.
And we will have a postseason.

Which statistics will we be competing in?

Standard 5x5 Rotisserie stats: Offensive - BA, RBIs, HRs, Runs, SBs; Pitching - Wins, Saves, Ks, ERA, WHIP (walks + hits divided by IP).

How many teams will make the playoffs?

Between 3-8, depending on how many teams we wind up having.
